A VERY short history on the wrap dress:
Wrapping became tradition back in the
1970s when Diane Von Furstenberg launched a dress that was worn
like a jacket, two parts crossed over each other and tied at the
waist. At the time it was genius solution for working
women who needed something that was chic and easy-to-wear. The wrap
dress rose to cult status amongst the ladies of the night at Studio
54 and the ladies that lunch on Park Avenue. Versatile
indeed. Over
time, Diane von Furstenberg had sold
more than 5 million wrap dresses - that's a lot of stretch
jersey!
